A small note on how the site is put together, kept here mostly for anyone curious and partly because colophons are a nice old tradition.
Typography
Headings are set in Libre Baskerville. Body text is Source Serif 4, designed for long reading on screens. Navigation and small UI bits are DM Sans. All three are free, via Google Fonts.
Color
A warm off-white background, a dark brown-black for text, and a muted burgundy accent for links and small moments of emphasis. Nothing in the palette was chosen to pop. It was chosen to stay out of the way.
Build
Hand-written HTML and CSS, a sprinkle of JavaScript, no framework. Hosted on Vercel, deployed from GitHub on every push to main. The source is on GitHub if you want to see the scaffolding.
Made with
Claude did most of the typing. I did the squinting and pointing. That felt worth naming.
